The Pranayam way of life. |
Pranayam is a form of breathing exercise. While yoga focuses on body movements and positions, Pranayam targets the breathing system of the body. The word Pranayam literally means ‘the breath of life’. I’ve been practicing this form of exercise for over two months now; and have chosen the Pranayam way of living. Extolling this lifestyle, there have been many positive changes in my physical and mental composition. Pranayam has seven major exercises; doing them in sequence giving each exercise the appropriate time takes about an hour.
A person who adopts these exercises in his routine will have numerous benefits: a healthy heart, blood sugar control, cholesterol/triglyceride control, angina cure, improved cardio-vascular system, improved nervous system, glowing skin, body resistance, allergy control, strong senses especially eyesight, good concentration and a balanced outlook in life, cheerfulness and a desire to live life to the fullest, et al.
Best results are obtained when this is combined with the moral values of our religious texts. My family does Pranayam together everyday. This gives us a very good feeling of belonging and keeps the members even more united. My desire is to teach Pranayam to 100 people and enrich their lives.
